We Believe in Transformation
Through a Christ-centered Life
People can be Transformed.
Lives can be saved.
WHO WE ARE
Ignite Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian organization dedicated to transforming and saving lives.
Each one of us at Ignite Center had difficult pasts – some were drug addicts, some were homeless, some have served prison sentences, some were alcoholics. But, we all had one thing in common, we lived in the darkness without hope. But all that changed. Each of us has been given new life through the power and grace of Jesus Christ and we have been transformed. We are saved.
We live and work on the streets of Chicago and are committed to bringing hope and the offer of a new life to those in need.
Join us for Praise and Worship every Sunday at 11:00 AM

OUR APPROACH
We provide a 1 year discipleship recovery program to combat addiction in any form.
In 2017 in Chicago 664 people were murdered. But over 764 died from an overdose. In that one year, the CFD received over 9,158 calls for opioid-related overdose.
Everyday in America over 6,500 people are hospitalized substance abuse. Every day over 300 people die as the result of drug or alcohol abuse. That’s someone’s father, mother, sister or brother. Families are destroyed. Lives are lost.
At Ignite Center, we believe people can be transformed. We believe lives can be saved through spiritual healing and the grace of Jesus Christ.
We offer an in-residence rehabilitation program designed to provide the community, hope, and healing through the development of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We believe God is waiting to help you – all you have to do is show up.
— Our Mission
It is our mission to offer transformation and healing to those suffering addiction, hopelessness, and despair by providing a safe, welcoming place where through a Christ-centered life of spiritual direction, worship, discipline and serving men and women can develop a deep and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ; transforming their lives for good.
— Our Vision
It is our vision to inspire men and women to develop a personal and lasting relationship with God and to spread the message of transformation and redemption. We believe addiction, hopelessness and despair can be defeated for good.
— Our Story
Jose Gonzalez, our founder, began his journey with addiction as a young man in Chicago. After many years and many failed attempts to kick the habit, he ended up in a center similar to The Ignite Center. There, his cousin convinced him to give this place a chance. Jose credits that decision with saving his life. After many years of study and training, God directed Jose back to Chicago – to start a similar home, Ignite Chicago, and continue the work of saving lives.
For other addiction programs, clinics, or similar Christian Homes in other locations, see our Resources page.
